Congratulations to DTRIC Insurance Company, which has been selected as the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation, Highways Division, Oahu District’s First Quarter 2016 Adopt-A-Highway Champions!
DTRIC Insurance’s route for the Adopt-A-Highway program is on Ala Moana Boulevard from Piikoi Street to Kalakaua Avenue. DTRIC has been conducting quarterly cleanups on this stretch since 1999, and draws anywhere from 20 to 30 volunteers for each cleanup. The volunteers are made up of DTRIC employees, family members, and friends.
“We are proud to have been a part of the Adopt-A-Highway program for the past 17 years,” said Michele Saito, DTRIC President and Chief Executive Officer. “This is a great way for our employees and their families and friends to come together, bond, and take part in a worthwhile project that exemplifies the giving spirit that is an important part of DTRIC’s culture.”
Saito says oftentimes the volunteers are thanked by tourists for their work, and have also helped the homeless remove litter around their areas.

DTRIC’s participation in the Adopt-A-Highway program is part of DTRIC Cares, the company’s charitable initiative program. Through DTRIC Cares, the company works with community partners to promote and sponsor events to encourage driver safety and awareness across the State.
